Power tools stolen from vans in nine separate overnight incidents

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after reports of a number of thefts from vans in Nottinghamshire overnight.

Officers received nine reports of thefts believed to happened between midnight and 2am on Friday, May 3.

The offenders drilled and forced open locks to gain entry to the vehicles before stealing power tools from within.

The thefts happened in White Furrows, Thorntons Close and Warwick Gardens in Cotgrave as well as Holme Road and Gertrude Road in West Bridgford.

Officers said enquiries are ongoing and they will be exploring CCTV opportunities.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: "In particular we’d like to hear from anyone who saw a dark or black-coloured vehicle, possibly a BMW, which was seen around the time of the incidents.

"Anyone with any information about the incidents is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
