Power tools stolen from garage in Houghton-le-Spring burglary

An investigation has been launched after a burglary in Houghton-le-Spring.

On July 7, police received a report of a burglary overnight at an address in the Butterwick Road area.

A victim woke up and found that offenders had forced entry into his garage and stolen a quantity of power tools before fleeing the scene.

Police are now asking anyone who may have information or any CCTV to come forward.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "An investigation is ongoing into the break-in and officers are now asking the local community to come forward with any information that may assist their enquiries.

"In particular, officers are asking residents to check any CCTV or doorbell footage and report any individuals who are seen acting suspiciously in the area overnight between July 6 and July 7.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting log NP-20210707-0196."
