Premiership contenders Port Adelaide will unleash Orazio Fantasia and Aliir Aliir in their AFL season-opener against North Melbourne.

Former Essendon goalsneak Fantasia and ex-Sydney defender Aliir will slot nicely into the Power's team for the Marvel Stadium clash on Sunday.

The pair will be joined by debutant Miles Bergman - Port's first pick in the 2019 national draft.

Port have high hopes for Fantasia, who endured an injury-plagued final two seasons with the Bombers, and the versatile Aliir.

Both players starred in the club's final practice match against Adelaide earlier this month and supporters will be hoping they can add to Port's push for their first premiership since 2004.

After falling just short in last year's preliminary final, the Power's shot at redemption begins against a developing team expected to finish near the bottom of the ladder.

"Credibility is not an issue for us," Hinkley said.

"It is more about what we expect of ourselves. We expect to play consistent football, week-in, week-out.

"Last year, went some way to proving we are capable of that. But ultimately we did not get to where we wanted to go."

For North, the David Noble-era begins with off-season recruits Jaidyn Stephenson (Collingwood), Aidan Corr (Greater Western Sydney), Lachie Young (Western Bulldogs) to all make their first appearances for the Kangaroos.

The club's top selection in last year's draft, Will Phillips, will have to wait to make his AFL debut, but fellow youngsters Tom Powell and Charlie Lazzaro have been confirmed to line-up against Port.

"It's a dream come true as I'm sure it is for Charlie as well; we're both super excited and we will give it our all," Powell said.
