Power struggle begins atop the House Appropriations Committee

Rep. Nita Lowey, D-N.Y., speaks with reporters as she leaves a House Democratic caucus meeting in the Capitol. (Bill Clark/CQ Roll Call)

Last week, House Appropriations Committee chairwoman, Democrat Nita Lowey of New York, said she will be retiring from Congress at the end of this term. What are the likely scenarios for her replacement?

All that and more — plus an update on the appropriations bills — in this week’s episode.
