Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley is confident his experiment playing spearheads Mitch Georgiades and Todd Marshall together will bear fruit.
The duo have lined up just twice together, and they will be reunited in Saturday's AFL clash with West Coast at Optus Stadium.
Marshall was a late withdrawal with a back injury from last week's 54-point win over Essendon, but will join Connor Rozee as an inclusion against the Eagles.
Kane Farrell, Tom Rockliff, and Miles Bergman made way.
Hinkley is keen to get an extended look at how the 192cm Georgiades and the 198cm Marshall perform as a unit in attack, and they will face a big test against West Coast's formidable backline.
"What I do like about both boys is they are significant players on the ground. They're not just tall marking players," Hinkley said on Friday.
"Mitch is learning his craft daily. Almost hour by hour he's getting better at all parts of his game.
"He's got an incredible set of wheels. So we don't lose any run, we don't lose any effort, it's just learning when to use it and how to use it.
"We know Marshall is the same. On the ground they're very creative players for us and they keep us quick. The challenge for us now is to make that work.
"I'm confident they can work together. I'm confident that good, marking players - as long as they're prepared to work defensively and in the contest for us - they can stay in the side. But the proof will be in the pudding."
Hinkley will stick with his two-ruckman policy to combat in-form West Coast big man Nic Naitanui, who starred in last week's loss to the Bulldogs.
West Coast will be boosted by the return of skipper Luke Shuey from a hamstring injury, while speedster Jack Petruccelle also returns to the side.
Ruckman Nathan Vardy, goalsneak Zac Langdon, and midfielder Xavier O'Neill were all dropped.
The Power thumped West Coast by 48 and 42 points over the past two years, but there were two recent matches before that which West Coast won after the final siren.
Hinkley is expecting another thriller.
"We know it's going the whole way," he said.
"We've had some heartbreaks against them, we've had some joy against them. They'll be as nervous as we are about the opposition."
