Power poll roundup: Browns hold steady despite loss to Patriots

The Cleveland Browns fell to 2-5 after Sunday’s loss in New England to the undefeated Patriots. A series of first-quarter mistakes and late-game coaching blunders marred what was otherwise a pretty solid performance by the Browns against the defending Super Bowl champs.

At NBC Sports, the Browns slid one spot from No. 22 to 23. The team held steady at the same spot, No. 23, in NFL.com’s weekly polling.

Some were even impressed by the Browns’ effort. Cleveland moved up a spot to No. 24 at USA TODAY. The explanation makes some sense, too:

Talent was never a question with this team. Immaturity was … and you expect unseasoned group to turn ball over on three straight snaps.

However, Touchdown Wire took a far more critical approach to the Browns. The team fell to No. 28, one spot below this week’s opponent, the Denver Broncos.
