Five Australian playwrights have each written a 20 minute satire about power, and the result is a whole lot of power play. Melissa Bubnic, Michele Lee, Nakkiah Lui, Hannie Rayson and Debra Thomas – each with a knack for the political and comedic – track how power functions and dominates people’s lives.
Over 100 minutes, Power Plays looks at how authority affects identity, survival, love, hate and sex, and more. Sydney Theatre Company’s Richard Wherett fellow, director Paige Rattray is at the helm, with David Fleisher, Ross Graham and Steve Toulmin on set and costumes, lighting and sound.
