Power has cut out in parts of outer-south Canberra, affecting suburbs including Weston Creek, Duffy, Wright and Coombs.

The outage reportedly turned off traffic lights and street lamps along Cotter Road and John Gorton Drive on Friday night.

Transport Canberra said the power would return at 8.24pm, but Evoenergy did not report any outage.

it comes after power went off in suburbs around Weston Creek on Thursday morning.

Parts of Nicholls, Coombs, Duffy, Holder, Weston and Wright were all affected by the outage, with many homes not reconnected until after 10am.

More than 900 residents were without power in Nicholls from 7.12am, but Evoenergy managed to restore power to around 600 homes by 8am.
