Power is being restored to most properties across South Australia after wild weather brought down trees and power lines causing widespread minor damage.
At the height of the heavy rain and damaging winds, which moved across the state on Tuesday, more than 35,000 homes and businesses were without electricity.
But by Wednesday afternoon only about 1200 were still impacted.
"We are hopeful that people will have their power restored today, and will advise specific customers if we expect outages to extend overnight," SA Power Networks said.
The State Emergency Service handled about 400 incidents across Tuesday night and Wednesday morning with most of those involving downed trees and other damage.
While SA police said the main road between Kingscote and the Penneshaw ferry on Kangaroo Island was flooded.
Just before 4am on Wednesday, a car trying to navigate the water became stuck but the driver was rescued without injury thanks to a passing motorist.
The road was expected to remain closed for up to 12 hours but a detour to the ferry, which brings goods and traffic from the mainland, was available.
The ferry operators, Sealink said its services were running to schedule.
Kingscote recorded the heaviest rainfall total across the 24 hours to 9am on Wednesday with 36 millimetres, while Adelaide had more than 10mm.
The Bureau of Meteorology said the rain would continue to track to the east as winds eased to about 15km/h.
However, more showers were forecast for Thursday and Friday.
The SES said the risk of flooding in the state's mid-north had reduced, including concerns around Port Augusta and Port Pirie.
