Power discom suspends 2 Gurugram officials

HISAR: The managing director of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has suspended Vikram Singh, sub-division officer (SDO) South City sub-division, Gurgaon, and Ashok Kumar, posted in the sub-division, with immediate effect for dereliction of duty.

The action was taken on the basis of preliminary inquiry report on the complaint received in the matter unjustified cancellation of the application for electricity connection.

A firm named Sunvision Limited had applied for a non-domestic (NDS) connection of 1,550 KW. In lieu of demand notice issued by Nigam, the requisite amount was deposited by the applicant.

Necessary material related to electricity connection was inspected and an independent feeder was also erected by the consumer.

Despite this, the application for release of connection was cancelled. In the preliminary inquiry, Vikram Singh, SDO and Ashok Kumar, UDC have been found responsible for unjustified cancellation of the application for electricity connection.

In this regard, the managing director directed the Nigam’s officers that applications for electricity connections be issued within the stipulated time and better service be provided to electricity consumers.
