Power cut in Edinburgh with residents and businesses in Newbridge area affected

Residents and businesses in the Newbridge area have this morning been experiencing a power outage.

SP Energy Networks reported the problem in the EH28 area shortly after 11am.

They took to social media to say that engineers were at the scene working to restore supplies.

SP Energy Networks later confirmed to Edinburgh Live that the disruption had been caused by damage to an underground cable.

All power has now been restored, and they wanted to "apologise to all customers for the inconvenience".
