Power cut in Edinburgh's city centre after substation fire on Holyrood Road

Parts of Edinburgh are currently experiencing a power cut.

Some households and businesses in Edinburgh's Old Town and parts of New Town, as well as in the Holyrood area, have been affected by the power outage.

Emergency services are also currently at the scene of a substation fire on Holyrood Road, which is likely to be related to the issue. Three Scottish Power Energy Network vans were seen at the scene.

Scottish Power Energy Network reported the outage shortly after 1pm today, writing: "We are aware of a POWERCUT in the EH1 and EH8 postcode areas of Edinburgh."

Engineers are working to restore supplies and Scottish Power have apologised for any inconvenience.
