Power cut in Cardiff, Bristol, Newport as people across Wales experience outage

People all across south Wales have just lost power in their homes.

Outages have been reported in Cardiff, Newport, Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire and all across south Wales with dozens posting about the issues on social media.

Some people say their lights just flickered on and off but others say street lights stayed off.

According to Western Power they are aware of a fault and it is an issue with the National Grid and is affecting Wales and the south west of England.

A spokesman for Western Power said: "There was an issue with the National Grid and they are investigating. It has affected homes across South Wales and the South West. This fault has created a dip which is when there is a fault on the line or substation and all the volts have collapsed which can be caused by a fault or explosion."
