Power cut across Yorkhill leaves residents without lights or electricity

An unexpected power cut has left homes across a section of the west end without light or electricity.

The problem, affecting Yorkhill (the G3 area) was reported at 8.29pm tonight (Sunday).

Affected postcodes include G37RX, G37TF, G37TG, G37TH, G37TJ, G37TQ, G37TS, G37TU, G37TX, G37TZ, G37UA, G37UB, G37UD, G37UE, G38AA, G38AB, G38LX, G38NE, G38NF, G38NU, G38PD, G38QZ, G38RA, G38RB, G38TB, G38TD, G38TE, G38TH, G38TJ, G38TL, G38TN, G38TQ, G38WW and G661JZ.

An engineer is being sent to the site soon, and it is hoped power will be restored in the next few hours.

A spokesperson for SP Energy Networks said: “We had no advance warning of this and only became aware of it at 8:28pm.

“Our control centre will attempt to reset the network remotely to restore power in stages, and we will also send our next available engineer to attend site. Our team will work to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 10:30pm.”

Updates will be shared on the SP Energy Networks site.
