Two Fulton Foods stores in Leeds are set to be converted into Poundland stores ahead of Christmas.
The chilled and frozen food store in Holbeck will become a Poundland Local while the Garforth store, which is close to a Poundland, will be transformed into a stand-home store Pep&Co store - the discount store’s homeware brand.
The pilot move to revamp 10 stores across the country comes after Poundland acquired Barnsley-based Fulton Foods in 2020.

A spokesperson for the company said they expect to employ around 20 more colleagues across the stores, that will sell groceries, home and beauty and more, once the new formats are complete.
The move is also part Diamond ICE project to bring chilled and frozen food to over 50 stores across the south of England and Northern Ireland.

Poundland’s retail and transformation director Austin Cooke said: “This announcement is another example of the way we’re transforming the customer offer in our stores. Becoming the best Poundland we can be for our shoppers, is what motivates us to move at an amazing pace.
