Poundland to open seven new stores and revamp 55 more – see the full list

Poundland is to open seven new stores and revamp another 55 as part of a huge expansion before Christmas.

The budget retailer will open a handful of new stores in locations including Rayleigh in Essex and Southampton in Hampshire.

Three of the new openings include sites in Northern Ireland. You can check the full list below to see if one is opening near you.

As well as opening new branches, Poundland will extend several existing shops and roll out its chilled and frozen range to dozens more locations.

Stores in Bracknell, Consett, and Belfast will be extended to include wider ranges, including PEP&CO clothing and homeware.

Meanwhile, nine Fultons Foods stores are being given a new look and converted to Poundland, Poundland Local or standalone PEP&CO stores.

Poundland will also expand its chilled and frozen range to nearly 40 in November and December as part of the latest phase of Project Diamond ICE.

It means that by mid-December, the total number of stores selling this range will reach more than 250.

Poundland sells brands including Bernard Matthews and Birds Eye as part of its frozen goods.

Managing director Barry Williams said: “We’re working flat out to get new stores opened and existing stores refurbished in time for Christmas so that customers can see the best of what Poundland has to offer.

“This is just the latest stage in our transformation which has seen makeovers at hundreds of stores and a radical revamp of our product ranges.

“We’ll be pressing ahead with more changes in the new year.”

Poundland has around 800 shops in the UK and employs around 18,000 shop workers.
