Poundland to open new store in Swansea City Centre

Poundland will be making a comeback to Swansea's Oxford Street later on this month.

The high street favourite first closed its doors in April this year as the city struggled through the aftermath of the pandemic.

The store will be opening on Saturday, 18 September at 8am, and will replace the old Poundstretcher unit with 19 new employees.

Swansea's retail sector has suffered huge losses including the closure of Debenhams, Topshop, Accessorize and the Disney store to name a few.

The shop will feature the popular PEP&CO clothing and homeware lines that will be selling everything from affordable children's clothing, leggings and pyjamas, to towels and artificial plants.

Poundland retail and transformation director, Austin Cooke, said: “We were sorry to say goodbye to Oxford Street and we couldn’t be happier making a welcome comeback and playing our role in breathing new life into the heart of Swansea.“

“The opening will be just in time for our PEP&CO autumn and winter ranges and will give shoppers plenty of choice as thoughts start turning to Christmas.”
