Retail giant Poundland is preparing to open 10 new stores across the UK amid widespread high street closures triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The bargain retailer said 280 new permanent jobs will be created in line with new stores in England and Ireland.
It said 45 more branches will follow over the next 12 months as part of a £15million investment.
All the new stores will stock Pep & Co clothing and homeware and 119 stores will sell frozen and chilled foods by Christmas, the retailer said.
Dealz stores in Ireland will open in Athenry on November 14, Limerick Crescent on November 28 and Belgard Retail Park in Tallaght, Dublin on December 5.
Poundland managing director Barry Williams said: "Poundland is going through the biggest transformation in our history and as part of that we’ve got ambitious plans to open new stores across the country where we can be a vital part of the retail community.
