Poundland store opening times as retailer urges customers to be considerate during coronavirus pandemic

During the country-wide lockdown only certain stores are allowed to remain open with supermarkets and those selling essential items among those.

Budget retailer Poundland has kept stores open to help its customers stock up on its products which range from household goods to food cupboard essentials.

Like many supermarkets at the start of the lockdown Poundland put restrictions on how many of each item its customers could buy.

However, the retailer has now taken to its Facebook to confirm these restrictions have now been removed.

Its post said: "Good news! We've removed all our limits on essential items. But please be thoughtful and only buy what you need."

Replying to one Facebook user who thought the post may have been an April's Fools joken as the post was originally shared on April 1, Poundland said: "Not at all. We've removed the limits because we're back in stock on most items, so there's no need for people to buy more than they need.

"We just ask that people continue to shop considerately."

Austin Cooke, retail director, said: "This is good news for our customers who are following government advice on staying at home. We continue to urge shoppers to be thoughtful and buy what they need."
