Poundland sharing very rude and cheeky posts for Christmas

Budget retailer Poundland is winning fans on Facebook and Twitter thanks to its frisky festive posts.

The retailer has a reputation for posting updates that push the boundaries of taste and decency at Christmas - with a number of risque images inspired by Elf on the Shelf in recent years.

In 2017, the chain's elf ads were banned after complaints about their explicit nature.

The elves were picture in a series of sexual positions - including a Mylie Cyrus wrecking ball shot and several involving multiple naked Barbies.

This year the high-street chain has left the elf behind, but is still taking the festive season into X-rated territory.

Each post is gaining hundreds of comments in minutes - with one person on Facebook describing them as 'Roy Walker moments' - "It's good, but it's not right".

One post featured an image of the leader of the free world, US President Donald Trump, alongside a picture of Poundland's Pure Mulled Wine air freshener - with the caption "For an unexpected visit of the Trumps."

Another features a woman who appears to be quite pleased with herself, alongside a box of Cadbury chocolate biscuits, and the caption "For a friend who loves a good finger"

Naiomi Suchit replied: "I will never look at a chocolate finger the same again poundland."

Martin Keast added: "Poundland......please continue with your fabulous politically incorrect advertising......I for one are getting fed up with so many sensitive politically correct snowflake advertising...yours are such a breath of fresh air x"

While others just branded the post 'naughty'.

A third post of a woman in a Brazilian football top, alongside an image of Nair body wax strips, came with the caption: "For a sexy Brazilian strip."

The posts are being shared with the tag #SantaBanter.

Not everyone is amused. Mark Jameson replied: "Dropping the ball with this Santa banter Poundland. Bring the elf back and give the people what they want!"

Other posts have advertised cacti and toilet paper.

A Poundland spokesman said: "At this time of year, giving our customers a laugh is our (all-female) social media team's only job as Poundland fills the nation's stockings."
