Poundland's engagement rings are back so you can pop the question for £1

With everything that's happened over the last year, many people looking to get engaged might not have the spare money to splash out on an expensive ring.

If this is the case for you, fear not, as Poundland's popular range of engagement rings are back.

The high street retailer has rings for both men and women available in a number of different styles and sizes and the best part is that they cost just £1 each.

The 'bling rings' come in a range of colours, including faux diamond, faux ruby, faux topaz and one gold coloured option, as well as a faux silver band for men.

The rings were spotted in a Poundland store over the weekend and shared on the Money Saver Online Facebook page.

The post has garnered over 4,800 likes and more than 1,000 likes.

A number of people liked the rings, with one commenting: "I wanted some cheap rings to wear as I'm losing weight and an investment would be bad. This is a great idea!"

Another said: "Seriously...if I loved him and he loved me...then I'd wear it with pride. True love isn't defined by how much a ring is worth."

A third replied: "Personally I wouldn't care, it's the thought that counts! Yes, it may turn your finger green but love doesn't come in material things!"

Someone else wrote: "I think these are a fab idea if you know your partner would like to choose the ring, OR If you aren't sure on her ring size, that can all be done when you're choosing the real ring together OR if you plan to do it abroad etc and don't want to risk losing the expensive one along the journey."

However, not everyone was on board with the idea of a £1 ring.

Someone else said "the answer would be no" if they were presented with one of these.

A second proclaimed: "What a load of rubbish if someone gave one of that cheap rubbish to me they would be on their bike."

A different user added: "Probably the type of rings that turn your finger green."
