Poundland's birthday banners baffle fans with wide variety of spelling mistakes

Even the most low-key host feels a certain amount of pressure to get the birthday party basics right.

Basics such as sending out invites with enough notice, having enough food, and if you choose to go down the banner route, getting the spelling right.

This last is where Poundland has recently baffled shoppers.

Customers who'd purchased "Happy Birthday" banners from everyone's favourite bargain store were left both disappointed and tickled pink by some of the interesting takes on the spelling.

Errors included spelling birthday as "birthdday" and even getting happy wrong - spelling it "happ".

Oops.

Let's take a look at some of the intriguing variations on "Happy Birthday"...

The most recent slip-up prompted one shopper to tweet: "Great 'happy bibthday 'banner we bought from one of your stores for my nephew's 1st birthday!"

Poundland did respond very quickly asking her to get in touch.

The banners come in either blue or pink, and cost £1 (obviously).

It's not just birthday banner which have got this treatment.

Poundland fans previously shared photos of Christmas banners spelt "Merrt Christmas", sheep costumes spelt "Sheep Nativiy Costume" and - our personal favourite: "Dreams: believe you can and your half way there".

Poundland, we've all been there.

MirrorOnline has reached out to Poundland for comment.
