Poundland, Primark and TKMaxx hiring at massive jobs fair in Bristol

Thousands of jobs will be available at a huge careers fair taking place in Bristol today.

A total of 60 companies are looking to hire staff, including TKMaxx, Primark, Tesco, Poundland, Bristol City Council, First Bus, Marriott Hotels, Mama Bears, Bristol Waste and HMRC.

Some of the organisations will also be offering apprenticeships - for people of all ages - and there will be the chance to talk to employers about training courses for specific jobs

“The City Hall jobs fair is an opportunity to meet a large number of employers and training organisations all under one roof," said councillor Anna Keen, cabinet member for education and skills.

“We are always looking for ways to help people achieve their full potential. Learning new skills through training and apprenticeships is a great way to improve your career prospects.

“I would encourage people from all parts of the city to come along. If you’ve been out of work for a while or looking for a career change, come and speak directly to employers who can answer questions and provide advice.”

Anyone who needs help preparing for a job interview can also find support, including careers advice, CV writing and interview practice.

There will also be advisors from Carers Support Centre who will be offering assistance to carers looking to get back into work.

The City Hall jobs fair is organised by Bristol City Council, the Department for Work and Pensions and the National Careers Service and is taking place at City Hall on College Green between 11am and 3pm.
