Poundland is selling engagement rings for - you guessed it - £1

With the festive period behind us, the engagement announcements which saturated our social media before Christmas have come to a standstill. Yet, with the most romantic day of the year around the corner, your feed may soon be filled with sparkling rings and looks of love once again.

Poundland has predicted an engagement windfall on the horizon and have released its own line of engagement rings just in time for Valentine's Day.

The Bling Ring, as they are called, come in four different styles and cost, you guessed it, £1 each.

You can choose between three silver-looking rings, one with a red heart-shaped stone, another with a diamond-shaped blue stone and the third with a diamond-esque stone in the middle. The fourth option is a gold-coloured ring with a 'diamond' in the centre.

The ring comes in a red velvet heart-shaped box and the packaging for the Bling Ring says: 'Because we promise they'll want to choose their own'.

Poundland told the Press Assosciation: "These are beautiful placeholder rings because we know they'll want to buy their own. We're looking forward to the Poundland proposal becoming the way it's done."

Placeholder rings are becoming more commonplace in modern day proposals, allowing women to choose their own ring rather than their partner choosing for them - and at £1, the Poundland engagement ring is a great option.
