Poundland goes online with trial of home delivery and click and collect

Poundland is trying a home delivery service and says it is also going to trial click and collect.

The service is being put to the test with 18,000 workers and 'selected guests' from one store, reports The Mirror.

If successful it could come to all UK Poundland stores.

More than 2,000 products are included in the trial, being run at a store in Cannock, Staffordshire.

This is the first time Poundland has made its bargain products available to buy online.

The store chain said the pilot would be opened up to the public in due course.

The Mirror has asked for more information and if there are additional charges attached to the service.

A Poundland spokesperson said: "The launch of a pilot online service is just one part of our exciting transformation plans, offering customers new ranges and new services."

David Jinks MILT, head of consumer research at Parcel Hero, said: “Poundland has belatedly woken up and smelled its discounted coffee. Although the initial trial is low-key, it is taking e-commerce seriously.”
