Potential transfers UConn can add to 2019-20 roster

HARTFORD, Conn. _ The future of the UConn women's basketball team became a little more unclear this week when the program announced Mikayla Coombs plans to transfer.

The sophomore guard's decision leaves the Huskies with just eight players going into the 2019-20 season, including incoming recruit Aubrey Griffin. The team is losing some of the program's best ever _ Katie Lou Samuelson and Napheesa Collier _ and could be forced to rely on the remaining starters from this, along with a handful of others who have mostly been bench reserves in critical moments the past few seasons including Molly Bent, Kyla Irwin and Batouly Camara.

With so few players on the roster, it is likely the Huskies will need one and maybe more players to transfer into the program not just to fill out the bench in case of an emergency but to play immediately.

Here are some players from top programs who have announced their plans to transfer and would seem to fit UConn's need to add size and depth. It's important to note, not all would be eligible to play immediately or would have to apply for a waiver to do so. But sitting out a year, like Azura Stevens had to for the Huskies a few seasons ago is a possibility:
