Various reports have made it clear the Washington Redskins want to hire Ron Rivera as the team’s next head coach.
Now this process is taking its time, but the pause before an official hire is a good time to step back and look at some interesting details.
Like for example, the special note above from ESPN Stats & Info, which reveals Rivera is one of just four coaches to win multiple individual honors alongside the likes of Bill Belichick and Bruce Arians.
It’s a small thing, but not an unimportant one. Rivera is widely heralded for the way he builds rosters and cultures as a whole, which is something the Redskins clearly want to overhaul after Monday’s firing of Bruce Allen.
If Rivera is the guy, it sure doesn’t hurt to note he’s alongside Belichick in at least one area.
