Potential Jurors Sworn In For High-Profile Trial Involving Donald Trump

Trump shares poll showing voters associate potential second term with "revenge"

Another panel of 96 individuals were brought in to be sworn as potential jurors. Upon entering the courtroom, some of the potential jurors appeared to be curious and perhaps a bit nervous or excited as they passed by a group of journalists and a sketch artist seated in the back row, as reported by the pool.

A court security officer instructed one panelist to put away her cell phone after she attempted to take a photo upon seeing Donald Trump. Some individuals in the group seemed visibly nervous, with one man and woman engaged in hushed conversation. Many heads turned in an attempt to catch a glimpse of Donald Trump, according to the pool reports.

Following the swearing-in process, where the potential jurors vowed to truthfully answer all questions, they were dismissed for the day. Judge Merchan acknowledged the wait the potential jurors had endured, stating, 'I know that you’ve been sitting around all day, waiting for something to happen, and I want you to know that that wasn’t lost on us.' He assured them that proceedings would commence promptly upon their return the following morning.
