Potential free agent target for Cardinals: C David Andrews

In a continued look at free agents the Arizona Cardinals could look to bring to the desert, today we look at New England Patriots center David Andrews.

Andrews has been the Patriots’ starting center since his rookie year in 2015. He has appeared in 72 games and started 69 of them. He has played in all 16 regular season games twice in his career but has never played in fewer than 12 in any season.

Cardinals offensive line coach and run game coordinator Sean Kugler recently mentioned potentially bringing in competition at the center position, so although they could attempt to make a splash at the center position (Cory Linsley perhaps?), it might make more financial sense to look at someone like Andrews, who could step in and start right away without costing too much.

Spotrac projects Andrews to make 7.1M per season.

His PFF grade this past season was a decent 67.7, and he only allowed two sacks and had only one penalty called on him, which, given the Cardinals penalty issues, would seem to be very attractive.

New England will likely try to bring him back, but if not, he would seem to make a ton of sense for the Cards.

What do you all think? Should Arizona bring in Andrews?
