Potential Dolphins bridge QB Tyrod Taylor to sign with Chargers

Another one bites the dust. There was a lot of speculation that former Bills and Browns starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor was the Dolphins’ bridge quarterback of choice this offseason.

The Dolphins won’t get the chance to find out how good of a bridge Taylor can be. Taylor has reportedly agreed to terms and plans to sign with the Los Angeles Chargers on a 2-year contract this afternoon.

This really isn’t that big of a blow for the Dolphins, as Taylor’s play had regressed in his more recent seasons. Too prone to check the ball down and not keep the offense on schedule, Taylor would have been the author of many low scoring affairs here in Miami.

Instead, he’ll get the chance to be a back-up behind aging star Phillip Rivers. And the Dolphins’ search for their 2019 starting quarterback will continue onward without an obvious answer in sight.
