Motorists in Dumbarton could face more delays this weekend, with work closing Townend Road from today for up to five days.
The works will close the stretch between Station Road and Bonhill Road from this morning, with access only for pedestrians and residents, and diversions for drivers and bus routes - which are shown on bus stops around the area - now in place.
Drivers who would normally use the busy route are being advised to use the A812 Renton Road, with access to Broadmeadow Industrial Estate being via Bonhill Road and Bankend Road. Further diversions are available via Church Street, Station Road and Poplar Road as the council works to manage the traffic disruption, whilst the restrictions will be applied in stages in an attempt to keep disruption to a minimum.
