An investigation has been launched after a potential cluster of coronavirus cases was discovered in North Lanarkshire.
NHS Lanarkshire has confirmed that they had been made aware of a number of people that had tested positive for Covid-19 who may be connected. Measures have been put in place to try and suppress the potential outbreak.
BBC Scotland has reported that the outbreak is linked to a call centre in the area.
Dr David Cromie, NHS Lanarkshire consultant in public health medicine, said: "We became aware this morning of a number of potentially linked cases of coronavirus in Lanarkshire.
"We instigated some immediate measures to reduce risk and are currently investigating the situation."
Earlier today, the Scottish Government confirmed that the country had seen its highest daily rise in cases of coronavirus in almost a month, with 23 people testing positive for the virus. The previous day, 21 new cases were confirmed by the Government.
Three of those cases were within the Lanarkshire region.
