Potential Cardinals milestones in Week 17 vs. Rams

The Arizona Cardinals will wrap up their 2019 season Sunday afternoon against the Los Angeles Rams. They hope to extend their winning streak to three games, giving them their first three-game winning streak to end a season since 1998 when then earned a playoff berth.

A win would give them six on the season, doubling their 2018 total and would give them a 6-6 record in their final 12 games.

There are some milestones for the players in play in Week 17 as well.

Chandler Jones

Jones is coming off a four-sack performance in Week 16 that earned him Defensive Player of the Week honors. With one sack, he will be only the 13th 20-sack season for a player. With two sacks, he will move into the top five of the NFL’s all-time single-season sack list.

With another four-sack performance, he will set the NFL record for sacks. The current record was set in 2001 by Michael Strahan with 22.5.

Larry Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald will appear in his 250th career game, all with the Cardinals. He becomes the 13th player in history to play 250 games with one team and is the only receiver in league history to do so.

With 41 receiving yards, he will reach 800 for the season, his 12th such season. Only Jerry Rice with 18 800-yard seasons and Tony Gonzalez with 13 will have more.

His 191 career receptions against the Rams are the most by any player against any one team in league history. He can bring that mark to 200 with nin receptions.

Zane Gonzalez

Detroit Lions Vs Arizona Cardinals 2019

If Gonzalez makes three field goals, he will be alone in second place in team history for the most made field goals in a season with 33. The record is 40, set by Neil Rackers in 2005.

Kyler Murray

If he plays against the Rams — he is questionable with a hamstring injury — he needs only 103 passing yards to reach 3,500 for the season. He would become only the sixth quarterback in NFL history to have 3,500 passing yards and 500 rushing yards in a season. He would be only the second rookie in league history to do it, joining Cam Newton, who did it in 2011.

With 56 rushing yards, he will reach 600 on the season.

With two rushing touchdowns, he would tie Jim Hart for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a season with six.

Kenyan Drake

Is he rushes for 100 yards or more, he will tie the franchise record with three straight 100-yard games. He would be just the fourth player in team history to do it.

With two touchdowns of any kind, he would join Hall of Famer Ollie Matson as the only players in team history to have three consecutive games of multiple touchdowns.
