We’re on to the second week of the college football season.
I have identified over 200 prospects for the 2020 draft that I believe could be potential fits for the Kansas City Chiefs. I’ll be releasing mini scouting reports on these prospects in random groups of four up until the draft.
Check out the first group of prospects down below:

Syracuse EDGE Alton Robinson
As the Chiefs continue to work to build their new defense they could look to add a young and talented edge defender to the mix. One that I’ve had my eyes on for a few years now is Alton Robinson. He exploded in 2018 for a 10 sack and 17 tackle for loss season.
If the Chiefs want to find another versatile defensive end that is capable of winning in a variety of different ways, well this would be the No. 1 option on my list. He has elite quickness off the snap and can with his speed. Robinson also boasts a ton of power which often shows up in the run game. I’ve seen plenty of repetitions where he stonewalls offensive linemen and they just can’t move him.
Hand usage is something that Robinson clearly practices and works on. There are some flashes of violent hands that remind me of prime Tamba Hali, who trained in martial arts to master the NFL pass rush.
Robinson is technically sound in all of his responsibilities, he takes well to coaching and you won’t find him freelancing often. He brings focus and effort on every snap which will surely impress a lot of scouts throughout the NFL.
I’m excited to see the type of season that he puts together in 2019.

Washington C Nick Harris
The Chiefs may look to beef up their interior offensive line in 2020 as they’ve now found a franchise quarterback in Patrick Mahomes.
Nick Harris is a guy that I really like because he’s great at controlling defenders once he gets his hands on them. He’s had to face some beastly defensive linemen in the Pac-12 and he’s made easy work of them. He plays with good pad level in both the run game and the passing game. Sometimes he’ll struggle to move bigger defenders in 1-on-1 matchups in the run game. I don’t see him as a road grader, but he’s a sufficient athlete to function in the Chiefs’ complex offense.
In 2018, Harris was one of the most successful centers in the country. PFF graded him as responsible for just eight total pressures on over 400 pass-blocking snaps.
The problem I see with Harris is that sometimes he can be fooled by quicker defenders. He’ll need some adjustment time in the NFL game, but this is a guy that could come in right away and work at the center or guard position for a team.

LSU CB Kristian Fulton
There was some expectation that Fulton might declare early in 2018 after a strong junior season. Ultimately, he chose to stay in school for his senior campaign. He has a chance to put together a senior season that could make him the first cornerback off the board during the 2020 NFL draft next April.
Fulton is a physical and quick man coverage defender that makes receivers work for every inch of separation. He surprised people with his physicality in his first year as a starter, notching an interception and 9 passes defended. He boasts a unique blend of football IQ, ball skills and technical prowess that a lot of corners just don’t have coming out of college.
The Chiefs needs at the cornerback position cannot be overstated. They will be looking at guys who are NFL ready in every facet of their game and Fulton will certainly be on their radar. It’s just not clear yet if they’ll even have a chance to draft him.
Fulton will have his hands full this week as he’ll be matched up with Texas WR Collin Johnson, who you can read about on the next page.

Texas WR Collin Johnson
The Kansas City Chiefs might need to add another receiver in 2020. Even with the addition of Mecole Hardman in 2019, the Chiefs are set to potentially lose a few more receivers following the 2019 season. Players like Demarcus Robinson, Marcus Kemp, Gehrig Dieter and De’Anthony Thomas all become free agents in 2020. Sammy Watkins could also be released due to his high cap number.
Right now they have a wide variety of athletic skill sets at WR position but they don’t have a player like Johnson. He’s a big and physical receiver who can run and block. He excels at going and getting the football in jump ball situations because of his long 6-6 frame. Whether he’s making a full extension for a diving catch or climbing the ladder, he uses his length and body control to his advantage.
Texas is expecting a big leap from Johnson in his final season. He was voted team captain by his peers and so far he’s off to a good start, recording four receptions for nearly 60 yards and a touchdown in Week 1. He’s yet to record a season with over 1,000 yards receiving but came close to it in 2018.
