Beef and Tomato Pot Noodle urgently recalled amid allergic reaction warning

Authorities have issued an urgent warning over Beef and Tomato Pot Noddle after it was discovered that some batches could cause a potentially fatal allergic reaction.

The alert comes after it was discovered 90g pots of instant noodles contain celery and mustard.

But these are ingredients not listed on the packaging and could trigger dangerous reactions in those who are allergic to the ingredients.

Supermarkets are now removing the affected items from their shelves as consumers are being notified, reports Cornwall Live .

If you have an affected pack and you know that you or a family member or friend suffers with a mustard or celery allergy,  do not eat it .

Instead, you should call the dedicated customers care line for free on  0800 146252 .

Other Pot Noodle flavours are not affected (Daily Mirror)

No other Pot Noodle Beef and Tomato flavoured batches or other tastes are affected.

In a statement, the maker of the snack food Unilever has stated: "We would like to apologise for any inconvenience and concern caused and thank everyone in advance for their co-operation."

In all instances customers are advised not to use the products and instead return the items to the store they bought it from.

Oumph! has also recalled its ‘The Chunk’ due to a packaging error. Some packets may contain a different product containing mustard. Mustard is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.

The product is sold in ASDA, Holland & Barrett and Tesco stores only.
