Pot Noodle snacks are being urgently recalled due to an allergy risk

Beef and Tomato flavour Pot Noodles are being pulled from the shelves due to a risk of allergic reactions to undeclared ingredients.

Certain 90g pots of the flavour contain mustard and celery due to a production error.

While these are listed as "may contain" ingredients, owner Unilever is asking anyone concerned about allergic reactions to contact its careline on 0800 146 252.

The affected items have a batch code of L9282 and a best before date of 2020. They can be returned to shops for a full refund.

No other types of Pot Noodles are thought to be affected.

Unilever said: "Due to a production error, the ingredients list on one batch of Pot Noodle Beef & Tomato 90g is inaccurate and does not include the allergens mustard and celery (although both are listed as precautionary ‘may contain’ ingredients).

"As the safety of the people that buy and use our products is always our number one priority, we are taking the voluntary precaution of recalling this batch as it could pose a health risk for people with allergies.

"No other Pot Noodle Beef & Tomato batches or other Pot Noodle products are affected."

Food Standards Scotland say they could pose a health risk to anyone with an allergy to celery or mustard.
