Pot Noodle, ASDA and Home Bargains issue urgent product recalls

Several supermarkets have had to recall products over safety and allergy fears.

The Food Standards Agency has issued a number of product recalls in the past couple of weeks.

Supermarkets such as ASDA, Aldi and Sainsbury's have all been forced to recall certain groceries.

In all instances customers are advised not to use the products and instead return the items to the store they bought it from.

Here's the most recent product recalls issued by the FSA.

Pot Noodle

 

Unilever is recalling one batch of Pot Noodle Beef & Tomato because it contains celery and mustard which are not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to celery and/or mustard.

The pack size is 90g, the batch doe is L9282 and the best before date is July 2020.

ASDA -Meatball marinara meal

Meatball Marinara meal (ASDA)

 

ASDA are recalling  its Meatball Marinara meal because it contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

The product has been incorrectly packaged with Sundried Tomato and Basil Meatballs, which contains milk.

The pack size is 160g, with a use date of December 8.

No other Asda products are known to be affected.

Home Bargains Shortbread

 

TJ Morris is recalling Oxfordshire Tea Co. Butter Shortbread because the allergy labelling is inaccurate.

It contains wheat (gluten) and it has been incorrectly labelled as ‘Gluten Free’.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten.

This product is only sold at Home Bargains stores.

The pack size is 119g and all date codes are affected.

Sainsbury's

Hot buffalo dip

Sainsbury’s is recalling by Sainsbury’s Hot Buffalo Dip because it contains egg which is not mentioned on the label.

Some packs may contain a garlic and herb dip, this means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

The pack size affected is 90g with a use by date of December 6.

Tomato and basil soup

Tomato and basil soup (Sainsbury's)

 

Sainsbury’s is recalling by Sainsbury’s Tomato & Basil Soup because some products may contain wheat (gluten) which is not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten.

The pack size affected is 600g and has a use by date of December 8.

Aldi breaded chicken steaks

Aldi chicken steaks (Aldi)

 

Aldi is recalling Ashfield Farm British Breaded Chicken Steaks because they contain milk which is not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

The product has been incorrectly packaged with Breaded Chicken Kievs which contain milk.

The pack size affected is 505g, with a use by date of November 29 - so check your freezer for the product.
