Postecoglou offered cut-price €‎15m Spurs transfer for Barcelona midfielder

Tottenham are reportedly considering a cut-price transfer swoop for Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie.

The Ivorian international is set to depart the Spanish giants in the summer after being informed he isn't in Xavi's plans at the Nou Camp.

And Ange Postecoglou could be an interested party with Spurs said to be monitoring the situation of Kessie.

Kessie, 26, signed for Barcelona in the summer of 2022 with a reported buy-out clause in his contract of  €‎500million.

However, according to Spanish outlet Sport, he could be allowed to move for a cut-price  €‎15m fee in the summer.

It's claimed there is interest in Kessie from Juventus, Spurs and Bayern Munich.

The player, however, is thought to be more keen on a move to the Premier League or Bundesliga despite Juventus having tabled an offer.

The Italian club have submitted a loan offer for Kessie with an obligation to buy for €‎15m included as part of the deal.

Kessie has reportedly asked for time to consider his options with Spurs and Bayern Munich not out of the running for the midfielder.

Juventus will not compete in any European competitions this season which has left Kessie favouring a move to a club involved in such tournaments.

It's claimed Barcelona are keen to help the player find a suitable transfer with no issues with the player other than planning to lower the wage costs and Xavi not seeing the midfielder as part of his plans going forward.

It comes as Spurs are said to be open to fielding offers for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg during this summer transfer window.

Journalist Rudy Galetti reports Hojbjerg is in talks with Atletico Madrid over personal terms with a bid in the pipeline.

Kessie has been cited as a possible replacement for Hojbjerg should Spurs receive an acceptable transfer offer.
