Thanks to everyone who got in touch to help us put the postal service to the test. We sent out 500 postcards to readers in the first-class post yesterday, so they should start arriving at their destinations soon – Royal Mail's target is to deliver 93% of first-class mail the next day.
At the start of the year Royal Mail said it was hitting its targets, but with a backlog caused by the postal strikes taking time to clear, and fresh strikes planned for 22 and 23 October, it remains to be seen how well the service will hold up in the midst of industrial action.
As the recipients let us know when the cards have arrived, we will update our postal service test map. Keep an eye on the map to find out who gets their post first and who is left waiting.
