Post-split fixtures mean Rangers have incredibly low number of Saturday 3pm kick-offs

Saturday at 3pm. That's when football is supposed to happen.

You've worked hard all week and you get to go along to the game on Saturday afternoon to forget about any troubles.

That's unless you support Rangers. An incredible turn of events means the Ibrox club have had just five Saturday 3pm kick-offs this season.

All of those were at home with every single Rangers away game being moved for TV purposes.

With the post-split fixtures having been announced, Rangers have just one game on a Saturday in the final five.

That is an away trip to Tynecastle to face Hearts and home games against Aberdeen, Hibs and Celtic have all been moved to Sunday to be shown live on TV.

Qualifying for the Europa League hasn't helped with Rangers due to be at home the weekend after four of the six games, with a trip to Tynecastle and a Betfred Cup semi-final the other matches.

Rangers were also at home on three occasions during the full midweek cards.

The five games that weren't moved from your normal Saturday 3pm kick-offs were victories over Dundee, Livingston and St Mirren as well as draws against St Johnstone and Kilmarnock.

Celtic's post-split fixtures revealed as Neil Lennon's set for title party against Hearts

It's not been much better for Celtic either as they have had just nine games at 3pm, with every away game also moved for TV.

They got slightly luckier in terms of 3pm games because they were scheduled to be away from home on four of the six Europa League group stage match days as well as having Betfred Cup semi-final and final games after the other two.

Celtic have beaten Livingston, Aberdeen, Hibs, Hearts, Kilmarnock, Dundee and Hamilton in their 3pm kick-offs while they were also held to a draw by the Dons, and have a 3pm tie against Livingston on Saturday to end the normal season.
