Post Office forced to close after staff member tests positive for Covid-19

A Post Office in a Nottinghamshire town has had to close for more than a week after an outbreak of Covid-19.

A staff member at the Kimberley Post Office informed customers and people in the community about the closure via Facebook.

It comes as the person said they tested positive for Covid-19 although was said to not be showing symptoms.

The nearest branches are Giltbrook, Hucknall and Bulwell.

The Facebook post read: "Hi all. I have just had a positive test for Covid-19 as a result the post office is now closed until further notice.

"To say I am gutted is an understatement as I feel absolutely fine.

"Your nearest branches would be Giltbrook. Hucknall and Bulwell. Sorry for the inconvenience but rules is rules."

The post was later updated to say The Post Office wouldn't be able to reopen until Wednesday, January 20.

The latest daily total number of cases recorded in the 24 hours up to 6pm pm on Monday, January 11 was 737.
