Post Malone has announced he will be launching his own brand of French rosé in time for summer.
On Wednesday, the rapper shared a photo of himself to Instagram, where he can be seen dressed in a tux and holding a glass of his new pink wine, Maison No 9 - a name inspired by the 24-year-old’s favourite tarot card, the Nine of Swords.
To create the rosé, the Circles singer teamed up with entrepreneur James Morrissey of Global Brand Equities and music manager Dre London.
According to the trio, the idea to create a wine first came about during a dinner in Los Angeles. Just days after the initial conversation, they travelled to Provence, France, where they worked with winemaker Alexis Cornu to try different grape varieties.
The result is a wine with a “Provencal Pink” colour that features notes of “freshly picked fruit”.
“Inviting aromas of freshly picked fruit, such as ripe pineapple, pear and strawberry, meet hints of sweet French desserts once uncorked,” the wine's description reads.
In a statement, the songwriter said the wine is something he’s thought about doing for a while.
“Rosé is for when you want to get a little fancy,” he said. “It’s a nice switch up and I have been thinking about doing my own wine for a while. It was great to work with Global Brand Equities because they saw the vision and we got to do some super cool stuff. Maison No 9 goes down smooth, and you’re all going to love it!”
On social media, the news of the upcoming launch was met with support.
“You already know I signed up so I can buy some,” one person wrote on Instagram.
For those curious about the rapper’s wine, the good news is you won’t have to wait long to try it, as Maison No 9 will be available online and nationwide in June 2020, according to the website.
