As businesses reopen their doors to the public after a long lockdown, many are taking advantage of finally having a meal out.
Others are still indulging in a takeaway at home and enjoying their favourite fast food treat.
Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, good hygiene has been repeatedly heralded as one of the best ways to keep healthy.
And it's expected that food venues will strive to have exemplary hygiene practices at this time.
Food hygiene inspections carried out by Newcastle City Council were mostly suspended during the strictest period of the lockdown, but now some businesses have been examined and rated again.
The ratings below were taken from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website as they appeared on August 28, 2020.
The rating scheme, run in partnership with councils, helps people to make more informed choices about where to buy and eat food.
Hygiene ratings are scored from 0 which means urgent improvement is necessary to 5 which means standards are very good.
Ratings of 1 means major improvement is needed and 2 means there should be some improvement.
A score of 3 is generally satisfactory and 4 means standards are good.
