Post it in the shower: announcing the competition winner

Our post it in the shower competition, in association with Unilever, asked readers for ideas on what could incentivise people to take shorter showers. Entries were collated on our Flickr group and, after much deliberation, our judges decided on a shortlist of the three best ideas which were then put to a public vote.

Votes were cast, counted and confirmed and we are delighted to announce that the winner is Sue Webb from Illinois, US. Sue's idea for a water gauge would be a simple way to remind people the clock is ticking when they get in the shower. Unilever's marketing teams will now be working with Sue to evolve and develop her idea so watch this space for an update on the washing dial shower timer. Well done Sue!

Thanks to all those who entered the competition and voted for their favourite idea and well done to Sean Tyler from Cambridgeshire and Maeve Hall from London, for making it into the final three!

'Post it in the shower' is brought to you by Guardian Sustainable Business in association with Unilever. Produced by Guardian Business and Professional to a brief agreed with Unilever. Paid for by Unilever. All editorial controlled and overseen by the Guardian.
