Positive news for Notts County as transfer embargo is lifted by National League

Notts County have confirmed that their transfer embargo has been lifted by the National League.

The Magpies have been unable to make any new signings during a summer of turmoil at Meadow Lane surrounding their protracted takeover.

Following confirmation that Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz’s buyout from Alan Hardy at the weekend had been completed, Notts have settled all their outstanding debts, and paid those salaries owing to staff including their playing squad, meaning manager Neal Ardley will now be able to start bringing players in ahead of this weekend’s opener away at Eastleigh.

“We're delighted to say we've received confirmation from The National League that our transfer embargo has been lifted,” the club said in a statement.

“The news comes as a result of us settling all outstanding payments to HMRC, staff, players and football and trade creditors.

“Onwards and upwards.”

Boss Ardley has used a number of players in pre-season friendlies including striker Nathan Tyson, who has netted four times.
