Positive coronavirus tests have been found littered outside the Reading Festival site in Berkshire.
Some 90,000 music fans attended the three-day event at Little John’s Farm over the bank holiday weekend.
Attendees were required to be either double-jabbed or able to produce a negative lateral flow test on entry, which then had to be taken again every 72 hours.
BerkshireLive has since found a number of positive lateral flow tests dumped on public roads outside the festival gates.
It is unknown if the tests were from a Reading Festival attendee or a member of the public.
Syringes were also found nearby on Caversham Road, which many festivalgoers use to walk from the campsite to Reading town centre.
Reports on social media have claimed that some people dumped positive lateral flow tests on the site itself – in the campsites and portable toilets – although this is yet to be verified.
Festivalgoer Ben said: "When I arrived I knew there was a risk, but I thought, you know what, I’m happy to take that risk.
"I’m not too fussed about getting it, but I don’t think my family would be too pleased about having to isolate.
"I think it’s bad about the positive tests lying around but it’s to be expected really. If I tested positive I wouldn’t go home as we've spent so much money to get here."
Reading Festival organiser Festival Republic has been approached for comment.
