Positive injury progress update on long term Bolton Wanderers absentee Dennis Politic

Ian Evatt has confirmed long term Bolton Wanderers absentee Dennis Politic is now no longer using crutches and a specialist is happy with the progress he is making in recovering from a serious knee injury.

The 20-year-old is poised to be ruled for the entire campaign after suffering the injury in pre-season during the 6-0 victory against a Loughborough University side.

The Romanian damaged his anterior cruciate ligament in the game and is due to be out for the entire League Two campaign.

Politic recently underwent a successful operation and Wanderers head coach Evatt has provided an update on the midfielder.

He still expects to not be able to call upon Politic this season, but believes he will return from his injury after his spell out 'bigger, better and stronger'.

Evatt said: “He’s been to see the specialist, who is really happy with where he’s at.

“Dennis is off his crutches and progressing with his range of movement.

“He is a really hard worker as well, a fantastic professional. For a young player he lives and breathes football and looks after his body 24 hours, seven days a week, which is vital.

“He will be back bigger, better and stronger, I have no doubts about that.

“In my own head, it’s the season. But that’s only because it is what is best for Dennis.

“I don’t want to rush him back and then him have a setback. Next season he will be a big player for this club, going forwards, and we have to make sure he is properly looked after."
