A second resident at Goodwin Village Ainslie has tested positive to COVID-19.
The person lives independently in an apartment with their partner, who was the first resident to test positive to the virus at the retirement village.
"They are spouses who have been quarantining together in their apartment. They are currently recovering at home and are being supported by ACT Health and the Goodwin team," a spokesperson said.
The campus has not been listed as a COVID-19 exposure site.
"The village's common areas have been temporarily closed and are undergoing a deep clean," Goodwin Village said in a statement.
"All residents have been notified and we will continue to ensure they are kept well informed.
"Our staff have thoroughly prepared for a COVID-19 event. They are trained in strict infection prevention and control protocols and are focusing all their attention on the needs and safety of our residents."
Goodwin Village said no other positive cases had been identified at the independent housing village, and the source had not been identified.
