Positive coronavirus tests continue to rise in Ayrshire and Arran amid lockdown

Another 17 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Ayrshire and Arran during the last 24 hours.

The Scottish Government's confirmation means that the total number of confirmed people with the deadly virus in the region has risen to 74.

A total of 894 people have now tested positive in Scotland - a daily rise of 175.

The number of deaths in the country has reached 25.

So far 11,487 tests have been conducted in Scotland with 10,593 of them coming back as negative.

The breakdown is as follows:

Dumfries and Galloway 39

Forth Valley 75
Grampian 31
Greater Glasgow and Clyde 258
