'Posh duck' - New anti-swan graffiti appears beside the Union Canal in Edinburgh

A swan on Edinburgh's union canal has had to endure further abuse after fresh graffiti appeared near its home.

The picture, snapped yesterday, shows a bin near the union canal with the words: 'Posh duck but you still eat the dirty bread'.

This is the second anti-swan message to appear scrawled on a canal-side bin in recent weeks. Although lacking the punch of the previous insult, it is still clearly directed at a swan living nearby.

'It's terrible' (Daily Record)

A picture showing the words 'manky swan' with the swan standing beside it made UK headlines last month.

Now it seems the anti-swan vandal has struck again, branding the majestic creature a 'posh duck' and deriding it for eating 'dirty bread'.

Now locals fear this latest slur could mark the start of a worrying trend.

One commenter on Reddit, where the picture was originally shared said: "Every time i walk past the first part of the canal the messages seem to be progressively more aggressive."
